Lately, something’s fucking off, I’ve been getting really sick of listening to music, which never used to happen. Sometimes it just feels like the same thing happens everyday 12,000 times, sharing one thought, pieces of the same idea. “I am depressed, and I have some inclination of programming via Fruity Loops,” is my initial take on most albums that get shoved up my crawl. Years ago even with the worst albums, as I would examine them further I could start to appreciate their artistry as the layers peel back like an artichoke, each one with a small thorn, dangerous to only those who choose to consume it whole and raw, in its entirety. This album GRAVES – BY Mustapha Mond however is an entirely different story, so far it never gets dull for a single moment, as I realize how strange and alive this record makes me feel, one of the eeriest and darkest in its own way, skewing your vision to fuck with you, and taunt you from all sides. Doing your own thing scores huge points with me, and this racks up enough coupons to make my top releases of 2012 list.
