Moon Mirror and Virgin Blood played a festive show on the blackest Friday of them all at the LoveCraft in Portland Oregon (Friday November 29th, 2013).

The two artists pulled a staggering amount of onlookers, a very packed and animated crowd thanks in-part to Moon Mirror’s cosplay crossover appeal. In usual fashion Virgin Blood opened up showcasing her newest material which had a nice ambient ring to it. The artist has been walking the tight rope lately between managing her art space while working on new material for her upcoming album due out in February. Virgin Blood played a very short set lasting well under 30 minutes.

Moon Mirror went on shortly after starting right into her Transference material. This is an album which we here in hell know as one of the best and most complete albums of 2013. It is a must fucking have if you haven’t already downloaded it. Tiger Call, the lead single taken from the 4 month old album was eloquently performed and easily the crowd favorite of the night. The forward thinking Moon Mirror then surprises us with even fresher material going beyond the cloud. Two new songs plucked from her garden of creativity were showcased on this blackest evening. One which my helper remembers as “Unicorns” the other is so new it is yet to be titled. Both, by the way, sounded superb and this artist’s willingness to constantly push forward has us all very excited indeed about the future.
